Why is FCFS Booking Unavailable During Maintenance?

Overview

You tried to book First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) capacity and PRISMA stopped you with "FCFS service for this network point is currently unavailable due to maintenance."

The message, the Transmission System Operator (TSO) that published it, the period and the reason all appear with the error.

The Transmission System Operator (TSO) has published a Maintenance Message about IT downtime in its own systems. For as long as that maintenance period runs, PRISMA suspends FCFS bookings and surrender requests at every network point that TSO operates.

The error names the point you selected, but the suspension is not limited to it. Trying another of the same TSO's points will produce the same error. The restriction covers that TSO's whole network for the period shown.

This is IT downtime at the TSO, not a physical problem with the point you chose. Capacity at other TSOs is unaffected, and auctions are not part of the suspension.

What to Do

  1. Read the period on the message. Booking works again once the end time passes, with nothing for you to do.
  2. Check whether an end time is shown at all. A Maintenance Message can be open-ended, in which case the period shows a start and no end, and the suspension lasts until the TSO ends the message.
  3. Contact the TSO directly where the period looks wrong, where it has no end, or where you need to book urgently. Only the TSO can shorten a message or end it early, and it can do both.

To see a TSO's messages before you start a booking, open Market Messages, then Maintenance Messages. You can also subscribe to the feed and be told as messages appear. For further information, please consult: Inside Information Platform (IIP) - How to Subscribe to PRISMA's RSS Feed?
