How is capacity data managed and visualized?
The concept of Available Capacity (AC) is a critical component of capacity management systems. It defines the remaining capacity at a network point that is available for allocation after accounting for various factors such as maintenance activities, internal bookings, and pre-existing commitments.
Definition of Available Capacity
Available Capacity (AC) is calculated using the following formula:
AC=ATC−BCAC = ATC - BCAC=ATC−BC
Where:
- ATC (Available Technical Capacity): The total technical capacity available at a network point, reduced by planned and unplanned maintenance.
- BC (Booked Capacity): The sum of capacity already allocated through internal bookings and primary deals.
Steps to Access Capacity Data
-
In the PRISMA platform, access the "Availability & Price Data" tab under the relevant network point details.
-
Check the "Technical Capacity" card for runtime-specific data, including start date, capacity quantity, and quality.
-
Click on the upload button in the "Available Technical Capacity" section to submit a maintenance plan as an XML file.
-
Use the "Internal Bookings" card to add or edit bookings.
-
Download time series data via the "Download" button to review hourly values of parameters such as TC, ATC, BC, and others.
| Ensure uploaded XML files do not contain overlapping intervals. Error message: “Upload contains overlapping maintenance intervals.” Ensure planned maintenance starts at least 42 days in the future, unless it increases available capacity. |
