Generate New API Token 

Overview

The API token is the secure credential that authorizes the exchange of data between your organization and the PRISMA API Server. Every request sent to the API must include this token, which acts as a unique key proving that the request is coming from an authorized user within your company.

The token is generated when you set up your API access and must be shared internally with the people responsible for integrating and operating the connection. 

How It Works

  1. Generated during API setup: The token is created automatically as part of the activation process for the PRISMA API service
  2. Visible only once: The token is shown a single time, at the moment the service is activated. After that, it is hidden in the platform interface and cannot be retrieved again
  3. Single active token per company: Only one token is valid at any given time. Generating a new token immediately invalidates the previous one 

Because the token is displayed only once, it is essential to capture it securely as soon as it is generated and to forward it to the relevant users without delay.

Sharing the Token

The API token is intended for use within your company only. It should be shared with the colleagues responsible for the API integration and with any users who will need it to send or receive data through the PRISMA API Server.

Generating a New Token

If a new API token is required you can generate one directly from the platform:

  1. Go to Company Settings
  2. Open the Premium Services section
  3. Under PRISMA API, click Generate Token

     4. Copy the new token immediately, as it will be hidden once you leave the page

 

Generating a new token deactivates the previous token immediately. Any user or system still using the old token will lose access to the API as soon as the new one is created. Make sure to inform all affected users in advance, and coordinate the rollout of the new token to avoid disruption to ongoing integrations.
