Auction Calendar

Overview

Each year, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) publishes the auction calendar of the Capacity Allocation Mechanisms (CAM) network code. It sets the dates of the auctions for standard transport capacity products at interconnection points across Europe. The calendar for the next gas year is published at the start of each calendar year, and all calendars are available on the ENTSOG website.

The quarters of the quarterly auctions refer to the gas year, not the calendar year: Q1 runs from October to January, Q2 from January to April, Q3 from April to July and Q4 from July to October.

Seeing the Auction Calendar on PRISMA

Each product type has its own auction calendar, with the publication date, auction start and product runtime of every auction. To see it, do as follows:

  1. In the left sidebar, click Transport, then Auctions.
  2. Scroll down to Auction Calendars.
  3. Click Within-Day, Day, Month, Quarter or Year to see the calendar for that product type.

The Auction Calendars section, with one button per product type.

To narrow down a calendar, for example to a runtime or capacity type, click the filter icon at the right of the Active Filter bar.

Auction Order

When different capacity types are offered at the same network point for the same period, they are auctioned one after another. In general, firm capacity is auctioned first, then interruptible capacity.

In some countries, for example Austria and Germany, firm capacity can be offered as more than one firm capacity type, and these may be auctioned in a set order. The order is the responsibility of each Transmission System Operator (TSO); for details, please contact the TSO concerned.
